Small church from the 15th century will attract you on the first sight – it looks atypical according to Orava, which is because of gothic influence. For this architecture is typical steep shingle roof.

Although is the wooden church of All Saints’ eye-pleasing from outside, the right treasures hide inside.

Combination of nature and sacral motives you will not see anywhere else. Church of All Saints in Tvrdosin is very unique in this. You will see spectacular wall paintings, a rich collection of paintings, and a magnificent baroque altar. Especially the monumental altarpiece of All Saints is so captivating.

Interesting is that due to paintings in the 17th century they made a window on the south side of the church, so more light could get in and paintings got more visible. This way church lost a gothic atmosphere.

If you take a closer look at the statues on the altar, you will see, that they are handcrafted from a beautiful lime tree. Do not forget to take look at the roof – it is covered with breathtaking paintings of ceiling rosette with natural theme and painting of a night sky.

If you hear the sound of the bell, know that you hear a saint sound. Historical bell in this church is sanctified by a bishop who blessed him and anointed him with oil. It is dedicated to st. Florian, which proves his relief on the bell.
